Notes from the garden...

Hello Bloomers!
There is a bunch of NEW information in this post so be sure to check it all out!

We had a great time learning how to put together plants in containers at Merrymeeting Gardens with Amanda Turner. She also donated the plants for the silent auction at the Friends of the Library plant sale.
p.s. would someone who went on this field trip like to write-up a thank you note for Amanda? thanks in advance– please let me know if you can do this.

Town Garden caretaker signups-- for all members of the garden club : )
The garden is in full bloom and so are the weeds! Throughout the growing season we will need volunteers to tend to the new town garden (as well as the Library gardens). General garden maintenance: weeding, deadheading, making sure the plants look like they have plenty of water (the town road crew has volunteered to do the watering), etc. will be the responsibility of each member who signs up for a 1 week period from now until mid September. There are 15 weeks/slots so lets try to have 15 different members sign up...

Here are the details for our upcoming meetings:

June 17, 6:30, meet at Raitt’s Stoneyard, Eliot, ME (http://www.awraitt.com/) We will also be carpooling from the town gym, leaving at 5:45. If you are interested please let me know.
The business faces Rt 236, but you are best to take Route 101 at the intersection of 236 & 101 and then an immediate right on Worster Road. Once we are done there, we will lead the way to the Hamilton House gardens in South Berwick.

July 15, 6:30, meet at Golden Meadows to explore the gardens and learn some photography tips. We are having trouble locating a photographer that is available that night. We are still working on it and we may look to Nancy and Coleen for our tips that night :) Carpool from the town gym parking lot to leave by 5:45.
