We had to cancel our February meeting because of bad weather, so rescheduled Janel Martin,Joan Jackson and Freya Bell to talk about Organic Gardening/ Natural products for our March meeting.Janel had a power point presentation of natural products and how they aid eco systems and soil. Need 5% organic matter in soil and a PH of 6.0 - 6.8. Should always have soil tested to see what type of soil and Ph level you are dealing with. amend to correct with as little disturbance as possible(use a colter hoe instead of a reg hoe), let the natural organisms do their thing. Learn about biodiversity and crop rotation and sustainable system. Recommended reading: Organic Gardening Book by Elliot Coleman.
