Barrington Bloomers September Meeting                 Sept 25. 2013

8 Members in attendance

JoAnn lead the meeting at the library, as Lynn was attending her daughters wedding in California. She asked us all to tell what each of us had success with or problems with in our own gardens this summer. Each time someone said something about their own garden it would set off a discussion from others with the same problem or success. It was very interesting what other gardeners did.

It was mentioned that the library will let us make announcements about our meetings on their board outside a week before we meet. Hope this helps to attract new members that may not know when or where we meet

We had election of officers
JoAnn- President
Lynn-   Vice President
Coleen-Treasurer
Cindi-   Secretary

Thank you to Lynn for being president for the last two years. Great job!

Dues were collected, now only $10 yearly, from members in attendance. It was brought to our attention that with membership to the garden club you can get discounts from area garden centers, such as Elf's in Rochester gives 10% discount. Coleen will be printing up membership cards for paid members to use at various garden centers.

Coleen gave the treasurers report. It costs $50 a year for us to have a PO Box and it was decided we need to have one place for mail as officers change. We will have a second key made so two officers will be able to retrieve  mail as needed.

Coleen has started her Master Gardener course, good luck to you Coleen

Cindi will write a thank you card to Paula Blanchette at the Federal Savings Bank for the $200 donation for the Art Sculpture in the garden contest. The recipient for this year was Adam Pearson. Congratulations Adam. We will have a picture of Adam with his sculpture in the garden. Have had many compliments on both the garden and the sculpture.
