Meeting Notes

Hi Bloomers
Hope your starting to enjoy spring bulbs and a little bit warmer weather.
January- Encaustics class at Nancy Kanner's studio in Portsmouth. Had 3 members in attendance. Nancy's talents always assures a great class.
February- The Bloomers and the Friends of the Library met to discuss "books and Blooms" event. Five members helped with the planning. Lydia Cupp was heading up the event.
March 20th- 11 members/friends were in attendance. We purchased flowers from Laurie Barker Burdwood to put together arrangements for the Books and Blooms. Donated vases, containers and other flowers and branches from those in attendance. We ended up with 10 arrangemnts to display in the library for 3 days. There were also seven florists that donated 8 arrangements. On the 23rd of March we had voting and a silent auction on the arrangements. The winner of the best arrangement was from the Florist at Barrington Village/ Christmas Dove with an Alice in Wonderland bouquet. Second was from Laurie Barker burdwood with Were the Wild things Are, and third place went to The Flower Room with Black Beauty. All the arrangements were beautiful and it was hard to choose. For the silent auction we made $564, split between the bloomers and the friends. Thank you Lydia for another successful event, and toall that madearrangements and donated time and supplies. Thank you also to the florists that donated; The Florist at Barrington Village, Laurie Barker Burdwood and her daughter, The Flower Room, Ericas Garden, Wentworth Greenhouse, Greenleaf Farms, and Sweet Meadows Flower Shop.
April 17th- Seed/ seedling swap at the library. Bring seeds from last years garden, or extra seeds and seedlings you've started this spring. Great way to diversify!
We are looking into a field trip to a butterfly garden, if anyone has info let us know.
Hypertofas class to make smaller pots this time. Anyone interested in hosting this class?
July- setting up a dinner/ pick your own blueberries at Berry Bogg Farm. It was a great time last time we did this. If interested let us know as we will need a headcount to reserve spot/date.
Happy Spring everyone
Cindi
